My name is Anissa and I’m a Texas-based freelance music writer. For as long as I can remember, music has always been a significant part of my life. One of my first memories of my relationship with music is falling under the spell of Queen at the age of five and growing up as a child of AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, and the Eagles. From those days forward, rock has had a permanent presence in everything I do. I enjoy delving into the history of music and immersing in bygone eras that have undoubtedly shaped the music we hear today.

With a bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Writing, I am combining my two deep-seated passions of music and writing. Through music journalism, I write to convey how music moves me with the hope that my words resonate with others as well.

Here, you will find music musings on the things I love in music, film, and beyond. I also share book recommendations that align with much of the same content.
